Our Minister

Rev. Sue Paterson

Greetings and Welcome to “St Andrew’s By The Lake

There’s a stone that sits on my desk here reminding me of our deeply rooted connection to “the Lake”.

A public park just near the church is a beautiful gathering place of flat rocks and ancient trees; indeed the First Peoples named this place Katorakwi meaning gathering place on the flat rocks. I believe there is wisdom for us at that particular site
  • flat rocks and ‘St Andrew’s by the Lake United Church’ are both, a good meeting place and accessible to all and in every way we wish to affirm that welcome.
  • ancient trees and ‘St Andrew’s by the Lake United Church’ are rooted in a context that offers Beauty and grounded theology and liturgy.
I bring a passion to nurture spiritual depth, justice and right relationships. Together we are developing a creative and beautiful liturgical life so that all who come seeking a place to meet will find this church, our worship and other faith-seeking gatherings accessible, affirming, and challenging in the essential Way of Christ.
Come and join us at this gathering place near the flat rocks and ancient trees, as we learn together how to dance, and how to sing a song of Christ’s love at “St Andrew’s By the Lake”.
