People of many traditions (and no
tradition at all) find a home with our congregation. Our current family
includes people who trace their church roots to: Baptist,
Pentecostal, Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Anglican, Christian Reform and
Unitarian. Membership within the United Church is offered
but it is not stressed.
St. Andrew's has a history of over fifty years serving its community
and offering space for many activities, both related to the church or
centred elsewhere
The services are jointly held at St Andrew's By the Lake United Church.
"Praying that the shadowed world may healing light receive."
We live in a world of shadow and light
We learned of the devastation in Haiti and have focused our season of
Lent towards helping them to return to the light of God's world.
The Light of change
My retirement is coming quickly and the light of opportunity and
change is being brought forth with the strong effort of the JNAC,
Kingston Presbytery, and the people of St. Andrew's. We will work
together to make this a smooth transition to your new minister.
SUMMER WORSHIP SERVICES
Volunteer Opportunities
For each of the five services in August, we need a lay leader to
support the clergy from St. Thomas', ushers, a greeter, people
responsible for coffee hour, volunteers to look after a children's
program, bell ringers and someone to operate the sound system.
To offer your services, sign the poster, which will be displayed each
Sunday at the back of Centennial Hall, or you may contact the church
office, 613-389-8082. Thanks to all who offer to participate. There
will be a meeting for all lay leaders after church sometime in June.
